Scheidler Carabus

(Carabus scheidleri) - species of larg e predatory beetle family Carabidae. Occurs from southern Germany through eastern Slovakia and Austria to the north-western Hungar y (C. p. preysleri) and Ukraine (C. p. excellens). In Poland, it is found in south-east [1]. Reaches from 20 to 34 mm in length, depending on subspecies and gender. Greater part of carapace is black, while the edges and upper przedplecza miedzistobrÄ…zowa, miedzistoczerwona, niebieskoczarna or brunatnoczarna.
